Description

Cheyenne Spirit Echinacea (Echinacea purpurea) is an award-winning coneflower that brings an extraordinary range of colors to the garden — fiery oranges, deep reds, soft yellows, and creamy whites, often all in the same planting. Winner of the 2013 All-America Selections Flower Award, it's compact, drought tolerant, and a proven magnet for butterflies and bees from midsummer through fall.

Why Gardeners Choose Cheyenne Spirit Echinacea

  • Multi-color blooms: A stunning mix of warm and cool tones from a single seed strain — no two plants are exactly alike.
  • AAS Award Winner: Recognized for outstanding garden performance across North America.
  • Pollinator magnet: Consistently attracts butterflies, bees, and beneficial insects through a long bloom season.
  • Drought tolerant: Very low water needs once established — thrives in hot, dry conditions.
  • Compact and well-behaved: Reaches 16–30 inches tall with an 18–28 inch spread — fits most garden spaces without crowding.
  • Deer resistant: A reliable choice for gardens with deer pressure.

Planting & Care

  • Light: Full sun for best blooming.
  • Soil: Well-drained; adaptable to average and poor soils.
  • Watering: Minimal once established.
  • Fertilizing: A balanced fertilizer monthly during the growing season encourages vigorous blooms.
  • Deadheading: Optional — leaving seed heads standing feeds birds through winter.
  • Companions: Pairs beautifully with Black-Eyed Susans, Shasta Daisies, and Golden Baby Solidago.

Shipping Information

When will my order ship?

Most orders ship within 2–5 business days. You'll receive a tracking email as soon as your order is on its way. Shipping times may vary slightly during peak growing season.

How do I plant my new plant when it arrives?

Water your plant thoroughly as soon as it arrives. Choose a location that matches the plant's light requirements, dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball, and plant at the same depth it was growing in the pot. Water deeply after planting and keep the soil consistently moist for the first few weeks while roots establish.

What if my plant arrives damaged?

We stand behind every plant we ship. If your plant arrives damaged or in poor condition, please contact us within 5 days of delivery with a photo and we'll make it right — replacement or refund, your choice.

What growing zones do your plants ship to?

Most of our plants are suited to USDA Hardiness Zones 5–9. Each product page includes the specific zone range for that plant. Some plants cannot ship to certain states due to agricultural regulations — this is noted on individual product pages.
