Description

Walker's Low Catmint (Nepeta × faassenii 'Walker's Low') is one of the best all-around perennials you can plant — a proven, low-maintenance workhorse that blooms profusely in early summer, attracts a constant stream of bees and butterflies, and looks great doing it. Deep lavender-blue flower spikes cover the plant in a soft, billowing display, and a mid-season shear brings on a strong second flush. Drought tolerant, deer resistant, and adaptable to a wide range of climates.

Why Gardeners Choose Walker's Low Catmint

  • Prolific bloomer: Dense lavender-blue flower spikes in early summer, with a reliable rebloom after shearing.
  • Top pollinator plant: One of the best perennials for attracting bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds consistently throughout the season.
  • Drought tolerant: Very low water needs once established — thrives in hot, dry conditions.
  • Disease and pest resistant: Virtually trouble-free — no spraying, no fussing.
  • Deer resistant: Reliably avoided by deer.
  • Versatile: Works beautifully as a border edger, pathway softener, or mass planting.

Planting & Care

  • Light: Full sun; tolerates afternoon shade.
  • Soil: Well-drained — does not tolerate wet feet.
  • Watering: Minimal once established.
  • Pruning: Shear back after the first flush of bloom to refresh foliage and trigger a strong second bloom.
  • Zones: 4–8.

When will my order ship?

Most orders ship within 2–5 business days. You'll receive a tracking email as soon as your order is on its way. Shipping times may vary slightly during peak growing season.

How do I plant my new plant when it arrives?

Water your plant thoroughly as soon as it arrives. Choose a location that matches the plant's light requirements, dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball, and plant at the same depth it was growing in the pot. Water deeply after planting and keep the soil consistently moist for the first few weeks while roots establish.

What if my plant arrives damaged?

We stand behind every plant we ship. If your plant arrives damaged or in poor condition, please contact us within 5 days of delivery with a photo and we'll make it right — replacement or refund, your choice.

What growing zones do your plants ship to?

Most of our plants are suited to USDA Hardiness Zones 5–9. Each product page includes the specific zone range for that plant. Some plants cannot ship to certain states due to agricultural regulations — this is noted on individual product pages.
