Description

Hot Paprika Coreopsis (Coreopsis Sizzle & Spice® 'Hot Paprika') brings a bold splash of deep red to the summer garden — a striking contrast against bright green thread-leaf foliage. Part of the award-winning Sizzle & Spice® series by Walters Gardens, it blooms from early to late summer in a tight, mounded habit that works beautifully in borders, edging, and containers. Low maintenance and drought tolerant once established.

Why Gardeners Choose Hot Paprika Coreopsis

  • Bold deep red blooms: Vibrant, eye-catching color that creates a dramatic contrast with bright green foliage — one of the most intensely colored coreopsis available.
  • Long bloom season: Flowers from early to late summer with minimal deadheading needed.
  • Compact mounded habit: Stays tidy and well-shaped — ideal for borders, garden edges, and container gardens.
  • Drought tolerant: Very low water needs once established.
  • Pollinator friendly: Attracts bees and butterflies throughout the bloom season.
  • Low maintenance: Easy to grow for gardeners of all skill levels.

Planting & Care

  • Light: Full sun for best blooms.
  • Soil: Well-drained; tolerates average to lean soils.
  • Watering: Regular watering until established, then minimal.
  • Deadheading: Light deadheading encourages continuous flowering.
  • Companions: Pair with Moonbeam Coreopsis for a stunning warm-toned contrast in the same bed.

When will my order ship?

Most orders ship within 2–5 business days. You'll receive a tracking email as soon as your order is on its way. Shipping times may vary slightly during peak growing season.

How do I plant my new plant when it arrives?

Water your plant thoroughly as soon as it arrives. Choose a location that matches the plant's light requirements, dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball, and plant at the same depth it was growing in the pot. Water deeply after planting and keep the soil consistently moist for the first few weeks while roots establish.

What if my plant arrives damaged?

We stand behind every plant we ship. If your plant arrives damaged or in poor condition, please contact us within 5 days of delivery with a photo and we'll make it right — replacement or refund, your choice.

What growing zones do your plants ship to?

Most of our plants are suited to USDA Hardiness Zones 5–9. Each product page includes the specific zone range for that plant. Some plants cannot ship to certain states due to agricultural regulations — this is noted on individual product pages.
