Description

Moonshine Yarrow (Achillea 'Moonshine') is a garden workhorse — soft silver foliage topped with flat-headed clusters of bright canary yellow flowers that bloom from early summer and rebloom through fall if trimmed back. Drought tolerant, deer resistant, and perfectly at home in borders, rock gardens, and xeriscape plantings. One of the best low-maintenance perennials for long-season color.

Why Gardeners Choose Moonshine Yarrow

  • Long bloom season: Flowers from early summer onward — cut back after the first flush for a strong second bloom in late summer.
  • Striking silver foliage: Soft, feathery silver-green leaves look beautiful even when the plant isn't in bloom.
  • Pollinator friendly: Flat-topped flowers are easy landing pads for bees and butterflies.
  • Drought tolerant: Thrives in dry, hot conditions once established — ideal for low-water gardens.
  • Deer resistant: Reliably avoided by deer.
  • Versatile: Works in borders, rock gardens, xeriscaping, and as a cut or dried flower.

Planting & Care

  • Light: Full sun.
  • Soil: Well-drained; avoid overly rich soil which causes floppy growth. Tolerates average to poor soil.
  • Watering: Minimal once established.
  • Pruning: Cut back by half after first bloom to encourage a strong second flush in late summer.
  • Division: Divide every few years to keep plants vigorous and well-sized.

Shipping Information

When will my order ship?

Most orders ship within 2–5 business days. You'll receive a tracking email as soon as your order is on its way. Shipping times may vary slightly during peak growing season.

How do I plant my new plant when it arrives?

Water your plant thoroughly as soon as it arrives. Choose a location that matches the plant's light requirements, dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball, and plant at the same depth it was growing in the pot. Water deeply after planting and keep the soil consistently moist for the first few weeks while roots establish.

What if my plant arrives damaged?

We stand behind every plant we ship. If your plant arrives damaged or in poor condition, please contact us within 5 days of delivery with a photo and we'll make it right — replacement or refund, your choice.

What growing zones do your plants ship to?

Most of our plants are suited to USDA Hardiness Zones 5–9. Each product page includes the specific zone range for that plant. Some plants cannot ship to certain states due to agricultural regulations — this is noted on individual product pages.
