Description

Veronica 'Georgia Blue' (Veronica peduncularis 'Georgia Blue') is a standout evergreen groundcover with two distinct seasons of interest — a spectacular early spring bloom of vivid periwinkle-blue flowers with white eyes that carpets the entire plant, followed by rich coppery-bronze foliage tones as temperatures drop in fall and winter. Low growing, deer and rabbit resistant, and tough enough for sunny banks, rock gardens, and border edges. One of the most dynamic small-scale groundcovers you can grow.

Why Gardeners Choose Veronica 'Georgia Blue'

  • Stunning early spring bloom: Covered in vivid periwinkle-blue flowers with white eyes for a solid month in early spring — one of the earliest and most electric groundcover displays available.
  • Four-season foliage interest: Bright green in spring and summer, deepening to rich coppery-bronze in fall and winter — maintains visual texture even in the coldest months.
  • Deer and rabbit resistant: Naturally unappealing to browsing wildlife — reliable in open borders and rural properties.
  • Weed suppressing: Tight, creeping stems weave together to crowd out opportunistic weeds.
  • Drought tolerant: Strong independent drought resilience once established.
  • Versatile: Works beautifully on sunny slopes, retaining walls, rock gardens, and as a living mulch under open-canopy shrubs and trees.

Planting & Care

  • Light: Full sun for best bloom density and autumn bronzing.
  • Soil: Well-drained; avoid standing moisture in winter.
  • Watering: Moderate and consistent during establishment; drought tolerant once rooted in.
  • Spacing: Distribute evenly across slopes or border edges to allow stems to weave into a seamless mat.
  • Companions: Pairs beautifully with yellow sedums, chartreuse hostas, and silver-foliated accent perennials for high-contrast combinations.

When will my order ship?

Most orders ship within 2–5 business days. You'll receive a tracking email as soon as your order is on its way. Shipping times may vary slightly during peak growing season.

How do I plant my new plant when it arrives?

Water your plant thoroughly as soon as it arrives. Choose a location that matches the plant's light requirements, dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball, and plant at the same depth it was growing in the pot. Water deeply after planting and keep the soil consistently moist for the first few weeks while roots establish.

What if my plant arrives damaged?

We stand behind every plant we ship. If your plant arrives damaged or in poor condition, please contact us within 5 days of delivery with a photo and we'll make it right — replacement or refund, your choice.

What growing zones do your plants ship to?

Most of our plants are suited to USDA Hardiness Zones 5–9. Each product page includes the specific zone range for that plant. Some plants cannot ship to certain states due to agricultural regulations — this is noted on individual product pages.
